He says he failed about 30 startups. Then he made $1,032,000 in one year with
zero employees. Below: every number that can be verified, the receipts behind the story, and
the 3 rules that changed it. Nothing here is estimated.
TrustMRR is Marc's own product: a database of startup revenues verified through
Stripe. His founder page is the receipt for the whole story.
His live founder page at capture: $2,976,593 total revenue, $50,427 MRR,
17 active startups, 379.5k followers on X. Captured 1 September 2026.

Honesty note. The famous "I failed 30 startups" line is HIS OWN count,
repeated by every outlet that covers him. Nobody has audited it. The 17 earners and every dollar
figure above are Stripe-verified on TrustMRR. Live numbers move daily, so what you see on his
dashboard today will not match this capture exactly.
THE RECEIPTSThe story, in original documents
The Product Hunt page as the Wayback Machine archived it ON launch day,
31 August 2023: number 3 product of the day, 139 upvotes and climbing. This reel went up
exactly three years later. His own newsletter, 2 September 2023: "$6,000 of profit in 48 hours". The first
month did $40,000. The peak month hit $135,000.His 2025 recap, posted 4 January 2026: $1,032,000 across 15 income streams,
zero employees.
THE 3 RULESWhat he changed after 30 failures
Six years of failures, then these three. They are the difference between his
first 30 products and his last 17.
1Ship in days, not months.
He stopped building for a year before anyone saw it. New products go from idea to launch in
days, sometimes a weekend. The failures did not stop. They just stopped costing a year each.
2Sell to who you just were.
He was a broke developer trying to launch faster, so he sold a launch-faster boilerplate to
broke developers. The customer is the person he was six months earlier.
3Launch before it is ready.
ShipFast went to Product Hunt as soon as it worked, not when it was finished. $6,000 in the
first 48 hours bought the time to finish it in public.
shipfa.st today: over 8,000 makers. Captured live, 1 September 2026.
